New to the forum
I am a new member to this forum and I live in Hawaii. I have been hunting for 25+ years and really enjoy it. I hunt Axis Deer, Mouflon Sheep, Feral Pigs and Feral Goats. Lately I have been shooting a 7mm-08 Ruger Frontier rifle and I like it alot. I am looking forward to participating in your forums and I like what I have seen so far. I am primarily a meat hunter but will not pass up a trophy if it presents itself. Our hunting area here is very small compaired to other places. Axis deer is found mostly on private land and its a rare occasion when you get to hunt them. I hunt for Mouflon on Lanai ( one of the other islands ) once a year if I am selected in the lottery. On Maui where I live we only have Feral Goats, Feral Pigs and Axis Deer to hunt.

RE: New to the forum
Welcome to the forums bud! I've always heard about the hog hunting down there. What are the laws for them? Do you have to draw or anything? How would one go about it from the mainland?

RE: New to the forum
Thanks for the warm welcome! I have been trying to get my pictures to load but haven't had any luck so far. I will keep on trying. To answer Hazmats question about the pig hunting here, we do have quite a few pigs on public land but to get a trophy you need to go where there is little to no pressure. This means that if you don'tknow someone with a large piece of property, chances are you wont be shooting anything but meat pigs. I've heard that on the Big Island (Hawaii) there are lots of pigs because the area to hunt is so vast. I don't have any connections there for places to hunt. The area that I hunt on Maui mostly has Feral Goats but getting a trophy is still a rare thing, especially because I normally shoot for meat for the freezer. I hope that the picture I am trying to send thru works. This is a meat goat that I shot at 400+ yards with a T/C Encore in .223 Rem.
