A different way to hunt hogs...
 

Several months back, I organized a hunt for hogs for the month of May using big bore, adult airguns. The time came a few weeks ago, when I met up with the other airgun hunters (one from Colorado, two from North Carolina) in Stonewall, Oklahoma to hunt wild boar at the first all big-bore airgun hunt at the Shiloh Ranch.

We all used .45 caliber adult air rifles of varying power. One guy (ExitPupil) hunted with a self-made .45 air rifle (a sweet and accurate shooter), while his son used a SamYang 909S .45 air rifle power-tuned by dad to shoot 205grainers at around 800fps.
Another hunter had an air rifle that shot 390 grain slugs at about 760fps!

We all had great luck, and each got a wild Oklahoma hog. All hogs shot were one-shot DRT's without a step, and with minimal-to-no wigglin' and kickin'.

Starting with mine, the smallest hog taken, along with a picture of the shot placement. My 80lb. or so boar hog hit between and just over the eyes at about 15-20 yards using a 228grain SWC going 700fps. He could not have possibly gone down any harder than he did.
Followed by a couple of 100 pounders taken by two of the other bigbore airgun hunters (one nice eater boar, and one FAT sow) and then the largest hog taken, a 142 lb. sow! We saw several 200+lbr's and a few hogs weighing 300+lbs that proved to be to wary to get a shot at.

Ya'll should give these .45 airguns a shot (LOL!). I tried to post the pictures on here but it isn't working. I hope these links work.

Wow!!!! Thats about allI can say, I hadn't ever heard of a .45 air rifle until today....Good job on the swine too!!!

So much for those who say you need a high power cannon to kill a hog.

But you know a air rifle is not powerfull enough to kill a hog;)

The ethical way would be to use a high power cannon with laser guidedexplosive tips [8D]:);):D

Good idea, I was going to say we can let the hogs eat him, but I know there are somethings a hog won't eat.[:@]
