Nice hog!! BAD choice of caliber selection though!!
Bad choice?........I have the deadhogpictures of a member of this forum, Venado Loco, which he killed by shooting them in the ear with .17HMR on open range not a pen...

I know its dead but the chances of it wounding that hog are 10x's greater than if you were to use a higher caliber! Dont get pissy It was just an observation. A 22 hornet dosent have much behind it for a hog!!

You are right maglite the little Hornet is rodent caliber it's just he shoots it so much he is picky about his shots and placement.I know people that take their kids out deer hunting with one for their first deer hunt...now thats a bad idea!Hogs and varmints is more acceptable if your gonna hunt with one.

Most of the people _itching about how we hunt or what we use, dont' know squat about hunting!!!
There was a video going round last year of a hog being taken with an air rifle. Now it wasn't your run of the mill Daisy, but it took one shot behind the ear and the porker went down. They may be a little extreme, but then again I've seen hogs taken with a sharp stick (my favorite way).

BTW Rloving, just get ready to come down at least once a month to my lake house when it cools off, we'll get a changce to stick a few with a "sharp stick." I don't know about inviting Kanga Kong there, I think he's taken to being "Gay", he started designing long bows.:D

My brother-in-law is the sporting goods manager at a walmart in alabama. They can't keep the Marlin .17 hmr rifles in stock, best selling hog rifle in town.
