Me and my fiance are both bow hunters and both were thinking about getting a hand gun because we do have predators and hogs in the area. Were wondering what type of hand gun we were looking for and that is pretty user freindly.
What are some of the guns you guys use or refer...

I have several but when I carry one to hunt with I carry my .45,I really like it when tracking these hogs at night......
Mine is a cheapie...Charles Daily on a 1911 frame, it's a good pistol, this is what I shot whenI took my CCL.

I would suggest a Ruger single or double action in either .45 long colt or .44 mag. If you reload I would suggest the .45LC if you do not then maybe the .44 would be better. Even a .357mag would work.

What about safety issues...as far as a safety button, I have heard that there are a lot of pistols with no safety. Are they a lot that do have them if so which ones. I've shot a few .357 mags and I like them a lot but non which have safety buttons...

A modern single action revolver has to be fully cocked and then the trigger pulled and held before the gun will fire. Likewise a double action revolver cannot fire without the hammer being cocked or the trigger being pulled all the way through the cocking stroke raising the transfer bar before the gun can fire. You can't much safer than that. Safety buttons on the other hand can getpushed to the fire positionunknowingly and then anything that snags the triggercan fire the gun.

You and your woman would do real well with a Ruger .45 long colt with the extra APC cylinder. Both rounds are user friendly and you can kill a lot of hogs with eather. The rounds are cheep and the cowboy loads are not bad for a woman to shoot. Ruger hand guns are point and shoot guns, not a lot of aiming required.
