Pretty much the same as field dressing deer. The sooner you do it after the kill, the better the meat IMO. And in the case of boars, always cut off the testicles immediately after killing it. That keeps alot of the testosterone from seeping into the meat and giving it that pungent whang.

You dont have to gut a hog.

Just cut out the back straps, hams and shoulders leave the rest for nature;)

x2. unless you are keeping the ribs, leave the gut intact with the cavity. i only take the hams, shoulders and back straps

x3. It is so much easier and you get a large majority of the good meat.

"I already scouted and found many hog at fort Stewart"

Ft. Stewart is over-run with hogs-big hogs. i field dress my hogs and take them to a butcher ASAP. In hot weather it is very important to get the hog to the butcher shop quickly:If this is impossible, the carcass has to be iced down. Hogs spoilfast in hot weather.

It is a good idea to wash out the inside of the carcass really well after field dressing. i carry several gallons of water in my truckfor this.

X four - the only thing you're leaving is the ribs, and there isn't enough meat on the ribs (of wild hogs) to mess with.

If you want to Euro mount your hog, cut off the head, boil it (outside), get all the meat you can off it, and put in on a fire ant hill and let nature take it's course. When all the meat is gone, go to a beauty supply and get a gallon of peroxide that women use on their hair, put it in that solution a few hours, then put it in the sun. And presto, you've done you're own mount.
If some of he teeth come off, put them back on with two part (clear) epoxy.
