You can also get a burlap bag soak it in diesel and tie to a tree the hog will wear a track around the tree rubbing up against the bag;)

Corn in a post hole. Sour or fresh, either will work. Adding a pack of strawberry jello will make it evenbetter.

RE: Bait

I add jello or vanilla to my bait when the trapping gets serious. I dig a hole, put out the bait, cover with a piece of plywoood, and then set the trap on top of that. Once the hogs are in the trap, their weight keeps them from being able to root up the bait. Other hogs will smell the bait and try to enter.

I know some people that put diesel in the corn to keep other critters from messing with it. I didn't think my luck was as good with that as it was the other way, so I quit. But some around here swear by it.

How long does it take for the to find it? It's grown up pretty bad where I hunt and was thinking about digging the hole near a pond where they root and sit up with spot light, this will take 2 people, hear them snorting around and me with AR,cause they will take off when light hits them, the red dot site I have coming might speed up target pickup! Rev knows the spot I have in mind but he's gonna be busy so gonna have to recruit my son.
