Countryboy, the distance on both was about 40 yards. The new rifle is a CZ European fullstocked style bolt gun in 17HMR.

mcraddock, yes if I want the hog to drop on the spot. We body shoot them to get them to run off and die out of sight out of mind. The coyotes and carrion birds need to eat too and they think hogs are yummy.! The 17HMR does not spook the deer like a centerfire caliber does.
