Texas Hogs
I recently shot these hogs in Texas with my 22-250. I worked up a load using Barnes new 53gr. Triple Shock pushed along by 35grs of Hodgdons Varget power. All three hogs were taken with one shot placed just ahead of the shoulder. All three hogs went down within 15 yards, shot distance varied from 85 yds. to 130 yds. The Barnes bullet entered with a small hole but tore the living H out of the inside of the hogs.

RE: Texas Hogs
Hog 3 of 3
Notes: All three hogs were boars, hog 1 & 3 were between 140-160 lbs. Hog 2 weighted 240# (we weight him on a cattle scale). Hogs 2 & 3 carried Russian blood (big heads and shoulders with smaller rear ends) Believe it on not hog 1 is accually about the same color as 2 & 3 but has been rolling the the red clay around the area. ![]() |
