The ranch is 1800 acres in Mason County. I think we've got about a dozen or so guys on the lease.

In what county is the land you're talking about?

It is 1200 acres in Kerr County. I am meeting with him this weekend. Let you know the details afterwards. I know the ranch and know it is full of deer. I figure he will want (and get!) about $15-$18,000. for it.

A friend of the family, I will see what I can do.

I am new on this forum. Any Hill Country, Texashunters on here?I might need some help with hogs on our place. Traps? Night hunts? Let me know!
Heres another Hill country hunter. I have a rach in Bracketville, and I have axis, blackbuck, whitetail, lots of hogs and barbado rams. Although I live in Navasota near Texas A&m, I am there all the time. There is a feedr about 200 south of the cabin. During the day loads of blackbuck and axis come flooding. At night you can see a few of them but the hogs then come out. We dont shoot the deer nthere because if you kill one they wont come back for about 6 months. But we do kill plenty of hogs there. Also in the early mornings you can ride on a gator on the trails near the moun tains when there is very little light and fill the back up before sunrise. They run across the trails like crazy. We also ride at nught on the gators and catch them running the trails

My wife and I have spent the last 2 winters in Texas (Harlingen) and this year I took my bow along. But I did not contact anyone about hunting hogs. If we go back this coming winter I would like to do some hog
hunting. Is there a place close to Harlington? Do ranchers charge big money? Are there some public property to hunt? What kind of money are we talking about? Any info. would be helpful. Thanks.

Hogs are a pest for all ranches. I have encouraged our hunters to "erradicate" as many as they can for free. Look me up when you get to Texas and I will see what I can do.

Good luck!

Montana Dave.
Thanks for the reply, I'll contact you thru e-mail in the days to come. I have shot a big Russian boar
in Tenn. several years ago, andthat was fun. I'd like to do it again. We have been staying in Harlingen, a
little south from San Antonio. Thanks again for the reply.
