Advice From FL Hog Hunters
 

I am going to Bonita Springs/Ft. Myers in two weeks.

So I was thinking, I could get away from the family for a day or 2 to hunt Hogs.

I saw some public land near there I could hunt and I see that Hog hunting is not limited, but am confused on the regulations. Can I use a gun to hunt Hogs on public land outside of gun season listed? Any good areas in particular? Do I need to enter a lottery for hogs?

I have enough trouble understanding all the tags/regs in Indiana much less another state!

JH, you can't shoot hogs on Public Land after the season has closed.Private property Only! It will openagain in September for archery, but you are going have to be Drawned for a Quota Permit for the first 10 days.

I thought that they were an invasive menace? Seems like a win/win to open the season and make money for the state selling tags, and get rid of some of them.

I will enjoy your fine weather though.

:)Yep! On WMA's they are considered Legal Game and any where else they are considered Live Stock and property of the Land Owner.On some WMA's the hogs have to be 15" at the shoulder, but on private propertythere's no restrictions and can be hunted year long.
