RE: Backup weapon when Hog hunting?
I never have carried a backup except when elk hunting in griz country. I have heard so many stories of hogs getting after hunters, but have yet to see it. Not saying they cant, just have never seen it.
I bet I could climb a tree fast, though! (Ha! Ha!)

I never leave home without my Springfield .45, and when I go and check our trap I always take my 12 Guage. In case their are pigglets trapped and a sow watching the trap. I learned this morning that Boars do like to see you when you walk up and they are trapped, he charged the cattle panels several times, like he wanted to break through and charge us, the 12 Guage was ready to go in case. Also if you have your concealed carry, you can carry a sidearm anytime anywhere (in Oklahoma anyways.)

Nice leather work you did there. That's worth showing off. Get a heavier bullet in either a controlled expansion or solid for penetrating a big porker if the situation arises. Federal 180 grn. Hardcast work nicely.

Thanks! I'll be getting some of that ammo.I've been shooting 15 and 25 yds. with the 110 grain bullet, decent groups....what difference can I expect with the 180 grain?
