Just going by the head the snout is too rounded to be a pig plus the bottom jaw looks like a calf.

Just in case anyone hasn't seen a calf lately. They have very long legs when they are born and they have a straight back.

ORIGINAL: npaden Okay, I zoomed the first picture up to 200% and the 2nd is at 400%. I just can't see how people think it is a calf. 400%:  There is a shadow on the side of the pig that makes it look almost black but it has a classic curved back and is very low to the ground. Most of the body is covered by the bush and I think that is part of the reason we aren't agreeing on what it is.  |

The area where the picture was taken has lots of wild pigs but no bears.
Still no luck on finding the original picture or who took it though so it is still going to be hard to prove anything either way. I still have a hard time even seeing how anyone could think it is a calf, but obviously some people think it is. We're still right at about 50% of the people think it is a pig and 50% think it is a calf. |

im betting on hog, my first gut feeling, and now with the zoomed in pic, there is no way that it looks like a calf to me,
