Hog Scents/Attractants
 

Going on a hog hunt on some private land the end of Feb. Is there a scents/attractant worth buying? They are putting corn out all month. I will be going down 2 weeks before the hunt for a day and just wanted to know if there was something I can get to put out to last a couple of weeks or even something I can put out the morning of the hunt

I have never found anything better than soured corn with strawberry jello in it. I have a friend that soaks towels in the soured corn and then puts the towels around where he hunts. But if your going hunting in two weeks you don't have time for that trick.. I sour my corn a minimum of three months... I like it ripe. :D

Yeah,Yeah!! You're to cheap to feed it to the pigs, you probably save if for Breakfast to last you 3 month's!

How and the heck do u sour corn. do you just let it sit out or what.

Fill a 55gal Drum withhalf of water and half of Shelled Corn. Start it were the sun will shineon it most of the day. Put a cover on it and stir it once a week.

If you want it to turn to SourHominey Grit, pour a can of Red Devil Lye when you set it up.

You might add a case of CHEAP beer to the mix and a pound or two of brown sugar.Ferments nicely! Works for us.
