priceing a harvested hog??

So when you go on a day hunt with an outfitter for hogs, how do they price the hogs for your bill? Most places like this say something like - One hog up to 100lbs, and a dollor a pound over 100lbs. So is this weight taken with the wole hog as it was shot? Or after the hog is gutted?? Or after the hog is quarterd?

Every ranch/outfitter is different I suppose. We charge a flat fee of $50 per hog right now. Simply because they are everywhere. Doesn't matter if he is a 300 lb wall hanger or a 40 lb eater!

best of luck

We need to have the webmaster put a comma there I suppose lol. The address of the ranch is Hwy 337 East, Leakey Tx.

About 2 hours west/northwest of San Antonio.

best of luck

To be perfectly honest, select a good outfitter that does not charge like that, or by weight... Just find a good ranch/outfitter that charges by the day, not by the hog....just my opinion...

We do charge a day fee if we put you up in our lodge and feed you. About the same as you would pay for a hotel and three good meals per day. If you don't stay with us there is no "by the day fee."

No hog no pay.

best of luck

Sounds like a good deal if you don't have a place with hogs on it. They are fun to hunt.
