We use a trip-door mechanism on most hog traps like the one here.....

best of luck

Yep you've got to have a door with some type of trip wire/string or lever.

We usally starttrapping them in late OCT and keep them in the pens with clean water and plenty of food untill the middle of DEC and start taking orders for Whole or Halves butchered. The sale for them are very good in my area for the Holidays.

We never leave hogs "trapped" for more than 12 hours (usually just overnight) before moving them to a holding pen with fresh water/feed. They are very intolerant of heat.

Here are some we caught last night. Nothing like a little snow to bring in the hogs.

best of luck

How much are you gettinga pound for them. Here in Oklahoma the current market price is about .10 a pound, which hardly makes it worth while to trap and sell. I do know of some guys who trap and sell the larger ones to hunting ranches. He gets some good money for the big ones.
