for hogs a good 30/30 is all you need if you hit them in the right place another good gun would be a 12 gapump shotgun with slugsthese will drop them in their tracks

reb i used to hunt hogs with a stevens 12ga double barrel and have killed many hogs with it but it would kick you like a red-headed step child

well crap =) i do so love walkin out with my AR-15 and my glock. Hmm 5round mags huh......... i do love my marlin 30/30 also. that would also pack a lot of punch out to around 100yards. Goodluck a good 30/30 in the rite hands is hard to beat for the average hunt. IMO

I think that everyone should own a Marlin 1895 Guide gun in 45-70 govt.

Out to 100 yards, with the proper ammo, there isn't an animal that walks the earth that can't be taken with it.

Also, a very handy rifle to point and shoot.
