Action Bar Problem (picture)
1 Attachment(s)
Remington 1187 20ga, the action wouldn't close, took it to a local gunsmith, and I picked it up today. The note on the repair form said "Action Bar" as you can see in the picture it broke. He wasn't in the shop when I picked up, his wife was.
How does this piece break? I take care of all my firearms, I hunted with it once a few years and shot it at the range 2 years ago. The gun is spotless |
Looking at you picture there may have been a flaw in the casting where it broke.

thank you for the reply, I think you have a valid point

Your nickle or Remington's?
|
also, possible it was dropped on a hard edge, and well, the crack followed??
I have several 11/87's and some seem tens of thousands of shells thru them (sporting clay's and skeet range guns) never seen one fail like that. I would think if it was at a rem authorized repair shop, rem would have covered it for you! |
I purchased the gun about 6 yrs ago, maybe 30 shots thru it. I have two other 1187s zero issues
