lows may work, but gonna say med. to be sure, my rule of thumb
32mm-----low
44 mm ----med
50+mm----high
some 40's will work with some low rings, some won't
a little space between the scope and barrel won't hurt a thing, nor will it effect accuracy as long as you have a good cheekweld on the stock
