Default ithica model 37

My grandpa has an old Ithica model 37 20 guage. It has a spot on the end of the barrel that is bubbled like it had something in the barrel when it was shot. I was curious if there was a way for a smith to cut the barrel down about 2 inches and remount the sight?? Or do we need to buy a new barrel for it? It is a very old gun so not sure if the still make barrels for it. I could be wrong though.

I'd check with my local and trusted smith first, but check this site out ... for your information ...

Thanks! I will have to check to serial numbers on it. There are many barrels!
