Force cone on revolver, 5, 8, or 11 degrees
I have a 44mag, ruger Blackhawk I am working on that has a force cone showing mild erosion. The back strap looks great, no flame cutting. I believe a Ruger has a 5 degree force cone, which should be fine for the jhp shot in it. I was wondering if i increased the forcing cone to 8 degrees, would it improve accuracy. And if i went to 11 degrees, would that just be overkill since i do not shoot lead out of it?

The only guys that I know that have had their forcing cones reamed to 11 degrees are the lead (only) shooters.

Me too Big Uncle. I went ahead and reamed to 8 degrees. It cleaned everything up.
