Default 12 ga wooden stock stains?

I have a mossberg 835 ultimag 12 gauge. I got some water spots or scentaway spray stains on it. I have tried mayonnaise and nail polish remover and just plain acetone. Nothing has worked to get rid of stains, they havent got worse either. Does anyone know anyother ways to get rid of the water spots?

Thanks

My 21 year old 500 has the same issue. I don't really care too much anymore but I'd like to hear what will cure it if anyone knows.

It is a lot harder to get stains off a 12 gauge than a 20 gauge.
