Tikka T3 Lite
 

Hello everyone i have a Tikka t3 lite stainless steal .30-06 and love it smooth bolt, very accurate and lite... however i have the plastic trigger guard and not to fond of it can anyone tell me if theres one out there or where i can find a stainless steal trigger guard or even aluminum one that would match the stainless steel barrel I'm pretty sure there are no aftermarket ones so what about having one custom made would I have to take it to a gunsmith or a metal shop and what process would be used milling or injection mold? What about price range? Thanks for the input and suggestions

Smith - I'm curious why you would want to get a metal trigger guard made. It's your money so you can do whatever you want. But....the trigger guard is actually a polymer and is really tough. You have to consider that a lot of handgun frames are now made of a similar material. And really, how much abuse does a trigger guard take?

I'd be wanting to replace the crappy plastic magazines with some good quality steel mags before the trigger guard.

Synthetic magazines and trigger guard doesn't mean low quality. Synthetics can be made by weight as strong or stronger than steel. Many metal firearm part on other makes/models are not as strong. Metal mags wearout, too. In fact I've had Remington mags wear out in a few years where the cartridges won't feed properly.
I prefer to spend $ on something that make a real difference (e.g. top quality rings, scope, to get the most accurate rifle scope package) rather than cosmetic things.
