I bought 2 for a couple of old small ring Mausers . The GI 7x57 was an absolute drop in needing only just a gental touch up at the front of the rear sight. Now the 2nd 1 will need much more work while all the parts fit ,the front screw hole just misses however its the metal not the wood. Also substantual bbl channel work will be neede to get the Adamms & Bennet bbl down in the 1st 6" or so in front of the action. Finishing was as simple as could be since I wanted a nice satin oil finish. Other points of intrest , I contured the rear of the stock the match the action shape and reduced the wrist area forward to the trigger guard as neeeded to fit me along w/removing a little from the comb as to see the irons well.
The Hunter stock we chose while rather plain at 1st look is well liked by all that have seen it and is amazing for just $56 from Midway USA. I fully expect to buy another for the BRNO Whelen build later in the year.
Here's a quick link to the basic story. Too dumb to get pix in here I guess.
