Default Rem.700 plug screws

I have a Rem.700 BDL in 30-06 mfg in 1970 i removed the open sights in favor of a scope and would like to plug the screw holes would anybody happen to know what size and thread pitch they would be,tough question i know but thought someone may have this info.

They use a 6-48 screw. You won't find them at a hardware store though.

Check a local gun shop or

I looked at where you live.If you are pretty close to Danville Va.I probally have some( enough to fill up the holes on your rifle ) I will give you if you can come and get them or I can meet you around 20 25 miles from here .They will be blue not S.S.

........Wow.... There's an offer that's hard to beat!!! Also, 6/48 is correct and any decent gun shop should carry them, as well as a good pro gunsmith. Should be no trouble. Get a few extra...
