B&C DuraMaxx Savage 110 heavy barrel question

Do yall think this stock will fit a stevens 200 with regular contour barrel?

bigbulls 04-10-2010 03:20 PM

Yeah but you will have a large gap around the barrel.

rjhans53 04-10-2010 05:20 PM

yes it will work, yes there will be a huge gap around the barrel. The durramax stocks bond with expoxy well with a little roughing up so you can basically bed the barrel in, if you still want it to free float a wrap of duct tape or 2 laps of masking tape free floats it nicely

Thats what i was thinking, it seems like a good stock but B&C doesnt make anything but heavy barrel contour stocks for savage except the carbelite model.

Honestly, in my experience the only stocks worth while from B&C are the medalist with aluminum bedding block.

I have a Ti takeoff on my .270 win that im really pleased with but to each his own. The only other stocks similar to the duramaxx are choate and ram line, im not about to buy a ram line and the choates had bad reviews everywhere.

I bought a long action Duramaxx stock for a 110. Worst $80 I ever spent in my life.

Why is that?

DeerandbearhoG 04-18-2010 01:18 PM

I had that stock on my savage 10ML , I thought it was a decent stock, but it was heavy, although not heavier than the laminate one I have on it now. I would get the factory wood stock that savage uses on the youth model for the stevens. you could strip it down and use some nice tru oil on it. wood stock savages are usually very accurate, and it would look good w/ the blued barreled action.
