Gun cleaning question?
 

I also posted this on the turkey forum but thought it would be good to post hear too. I was just wondering when cleaning a gun that has a camo finish, in this case a mossberg 835, how do you go about cleaning the barrel and other metal. I cleaned the inside of the barrel and gun but dont know if I should oil the outside down like you would a regular gun or not. Or does the camo provide a protective layer for the metal? Any help is appreciatted.

i've had a camo benelli for a number of years and i usually just wipe the outside of the gun with a clean dry rag. No corrosion problems yet.

That camo finish should have been baked on, no need to oil it. I would just wipe it down with a silicone rag and be done.

Ditto. Though if you use your gun in the field and scratch it then you would have to maintain those scratches.
