Finishing laminate stocks
I've recently purchased a new .223 in browning a-bolt and have ordered a thumbhole laminate from boyds. I've finished walnut and maple stocks before, but never a laminate. I typically seal the solid woods with a 1 to 1 mixture of linseed oil and mineral spirits but am not sure if doing that will cause the laminates to seperate where they are glued together. If anyone has any experience with finishing laminate stocks, please add your thoughts and experiences.

RE: Finishing laminate stocks
You might want to check with the stock maker, but I doubt if denatured alcohol (mineral spirts) could cause a problem with epoxy glues.

RE: Finishing laminate stocks
I tried that first, I spoke a few reps with boyds, but no one new if any kind of a mineral spirit, paint thinner, or whatever would accelerate the de-lamination process. Thanks for the comment.
