Only One

If the US GOV. came to your door today and said, YOU CAN ONLY HAVE ONE GUN; what would it be? Type (shotty, rifle, pistol) and what cal.??

I saw a simular thread here B4 but now i cant find it. You have to choose no " I WOULDNT LET THEM TAKE ANY OF MY GUNS" thats not a answer.

My H&K USP compact .40.. I like it for practice and personal protection. But if that ever happened I'd raise up a militia and take back our rights..

I'd hold on to my 12 gauge shotgun since it's versatile

I'd have to go with the Ithaca 37 12 gauge my great grandpa gave my dad and he's gonna pass on to me. It's a great gun for anything!

I'd keep my Remington 870 Express 12GA. I can fire anything through it and it will handle it!

If they were going to take mine I would keep my m1a2 full auto and yes it is legal to fight them off with 6, 30 round clip and 4 15 rounds I could stand for a little while that gun held me up good in nam. just my 2 cents

Well since I'm always wearing my Glock 27 .40S&W with 180 grain gold dots when off duty, I would proably use that to shoot the SOB then run for the hills :D

If I could only keep one firearm already in my posession, it would be my 700 ADL .30-06. But if I could buy any legal firearm before the single-gun law took effect, it would be a Springfield M1A.

Call me 18th century, but I believe Americans should be riflemen. Shooting straight means more than just marksmanship to this country.

I agree with grizzlymans answer. cant make a decision but it either would be an Ithaca 37 20ga, an old spanish mde sideXside 20ga or my NEF in 243. I would probably keep the sideXside becvause it has lots of sentimental value. and my dad would keep the Ithaca so my 2 favorite guns would be saved.

Some kind of switch barrel, most likely my H&A underhammer, rifle calibers available both large and small, plus smoothbores for shot loads. :D

I'd keep a .45-70 levergun like my Marlin 1895 Cowboy (although the Guide Gun version is really fun too) and hide a pair of my ruger Vaquero .44mags.

i normaly dont use shottys but i would have to agree with 70% of the replies, the shotty is very versitile and can kill from small game to larger game. But i also LOVE my glock 22 .40 and that would be a hard choice.
