The rifle he identified as his is a 1200 super. There are several on sale right now on gunsamerica for 495-949 including the scope. the 949 one is the one in the picture. I'm sure of my information and even checked the PH site for pricing. I haven't seen one with a gold trigger, but I've never handled a 60's vintage.

The s#7105 I put Leupold base and rings with a Burris 3-10-50 L.R.S. I think I will go see what else she has for sale

when I was in Germany, early 70's the Parker Hales sold in the Rod & Gun club's were always a source of trouble... many were returned soon after purchase for a variety of reasons... it wasn't long after they quit carrying them... don't know if this was a bad batch of poor quality control guns or what... never was impressed by any of the ones I had any experience with... never were exceptionally accurate, poor bedding, had several where the bolt handles broke loose... good luck with yours...

Hello rockfish. Unfortunately, PH started the cheapening process in the early 70's. the older ones had a steel floorplate which was switched to cast alloy....and on and on. Our R&G at patch was still carring them in the late 70's. This rifle is surely a mid to late 60's version with the really fine barrels, gold trigger upgraded French Walnut stock, skip line checkering, upgraded blueing and fancy little ivory diamond. I wished Rigde would post the SN. If it is NIB it's a real collectors piece. It's like comparing a newer Sako with the 60's Bofors models. Back in the 60's, PH developed a barrel manufacturing process that everone copied. Very accurate rifles. Once the cheapening process started....down they went. Sako may be on the brink. regards, Rick.

I have 2 parker-hales. Picked up the first one in germany in the early seventies never had any problems with it. Have killed alot of deer with it.
It was the model 1200 in 308. A few years ago I found one at a local gun shop in 25-06 in excellent condition for $350.00.

I had a parker hale 1200 super chambered in 308 win and sold it after last hunting season to my hunting partner and im very sorry that i did, i loved that gun and it would shoot .5-1 groups allday long. heres a pic of my buck i got with it this year

Hi!! I dug my super out of the safe and it's SN is S-02709. Made in 1968 or so....your 4 digit rifle likely was made earlier. I have a friend in GB who will be able to clear this up when he returns from vacation.....you have a fine collectable that's for sure. Regards, Rick
