RE: sniper rifle for hunting?

Well, I am a profession deer sniper. I am in my 23rd year of training. Getting pretty good at it.:D

They about overtook our position during a drive last year, but my training really took over. Deer didn't have a chance with my trusty deer sniper rifle.

wyzeguy9, you sound like one of those anti-gun activists using a term like sniper rifle.
Now if you're referring to a synthetic stocked, heavy barreled bolt action rifle with a high magnification scope then you would be hard pressed not to try a Remington 700 in, man I hate to say this, but in .308 Win chambering.

To dive back into this, yet again.

The M4 is not crew-served, the M249 is not crew-served, hence why there is no designated MOS for a SAW gunner, just a billet. I'm sure there is going to be someone out there who diagrees with this, but this is also what I have been taught.. a machine gun is different from an automatic weapon... machine guns are crew served. Based on these two beliefs, the M4 Carbine and Stoner 63A Carbine are not classified as "machine guns," even though they are automatic weapons.

Do you understand where I am coming with that UTHunter, if I'm not being clear enough I'll try harder.

Yah i know what you're saying. i didn't say either of them were, i tried to quote, but took out the quotes. I was trying to explain that the m4 was not a machine gun. sorry for the confusion

Wholly cow bronko22000... (here we go again!)
Why would i put a pic of my rifle up on this site if i were an "anti-gun activists " ? (you may want to go the the 308 to avoid being knocked around by the 300 - its taking a toll :D )

This is a (there are more than one kind) snipers rifle. It is designed to snipe. (yes my rifle is the same r5 milspec barell :) )
