MT Hands:

Optics will be a Nikon Monarch EER 2.5-8 x 28. I am definitely going to have a trigger job done somewhere. The shop I bought it from has don a couple of other trigger jobs for me and done a really good job. I will probably let them do it. My trigger actually breaks pretty clean, it just hard as all get out.

Like you I love my .260. I just don't understand why it isn't more popular. [&o]

Mike if you are any where near ½ capable with small hand tools you can do your own trigger job... Mike has a downloadable detailed set of illustrated instructions on his site to follow along with... get several of his replacement springs, as results will vary from action to action, but the trigger mechanism is extremely simple in these things.. I've done both of my actions... the first took me about 4 hours but there was a lot of going back and messing with honing this and that... the second didn't need all the work of the first one and a simple spring replacement took about 25 minutes... it'll give you a much deeper appreciation of the inner workings of the gun and make your range/hunting time much more rewarding... check out the forum here for good info on the do it yourself trigger jobs...

RE: It's finally here!

I did my encore using Bellm spring now it has a great trigger at 2lbs.I have it in a 50 cl muzzleloader and a 25-06 barrel, and both shoot as good or better than some of my bolt actions. The muzzleloaders will shoot one hole groups @100,so I wanted another caliber to try since it shot so good,I decided on trying the 25-06.
A friend and I shot four 3-shot groups this past Tuesday @300 yds,one inch and less with different loads and bullets.I had one group that was 1/2 in.
Now I am going to have to try more different barrels.
