ok i'll bite what kind of speeds do ya'll get from 180's.i'm getting over 3200 FPS with IMR 7828 easily using hornady interlocks maybe the guys i know with ulta's are loading light but none that i've seen are breaking 3200.i know the books say they should be but they aren't.and no i don't have time to get to KY or MD unless you invite me to hunt this fall.

If you aren't going to shoot more than 200 yards, the 338 '06 or 35 whelen are terrific and won't punish you.....include the 8mm '06. Out to 350 yards a 30'06 with a 180 gr nosler is perfect. Beyond that, buy a ultra something and good luck....when you get to be 60, you won't be shooting it anymore. Regards, Rick.

I can see what it may be good for in Africa or something but its so much more than needed for anything in NA. Maybe not quite enough for a main rifle in Africa and to much for plains game. I don't see a nich for it. If I were after really big game I would pass it over in a heart beat for a 375 H&H.
