WHO MAKES 350 WHELEN
 

What munufactures make a rifle for the 350 whelen. Im intrested in one and can't find many out there. Dose anyone have any thing to say about the whelen good or bad. Thanks

Do you mean .35 Whelen? Grice Gun Shop in Penn. had a run of Rem. 7600 pumps made in .35 Whelen and still has some available. Remimgton is producing 700 CDL's in 35 Whelen,not sure if they are available yet. Check "Grice Gun Shop.com."

Grice is taking deposits on the Remington bolt guns in that caliber and as said above they have some of the Remington pumps. They are a fine non Magnum big game cartridge. You could have any 30-06 rebarreled to the Whelen. It really doesn"t cost all that much. You could buy one from Grice and have them send it to a dealer near you.

If you want new, only Remington makes them currently (both pump and bolt).

There are some used ones out there from Remington and Ruger.

These guys are right though, it's probably cheapest to buy a barrel and have it put on one of the '06 based rifles (06, 270, 280, etc). You could probably get a barrel for about $100. gunbroker.com usually will have a couple listed as well.

I recently aquired a 700 CDL in 35 whelen... lovely gun cept for the big brother lock... i have not shot it yet though... i recently put together a 700 in 35 whelen AI with a PTC barrel from douglas... i have about the same money into each but the custom has a match grade barrel... took 6 weeks to get it blued also...

i wouldn't think twice bout the CDL... it is a nice rifle...

I have a friend who runs a rare Remington shop in Pa. He has a nib 760 in 35 Whelen for 549.00

Grice has N.I.B. 7600/.35 Whelen for $500. I bought one 2 months back. Had it shipped to a dealer in Ct., $8 ship and insurance,$20 transfer fee.

Midway has barrels in 35 Whelen for the Savage rifles. You can change it yoursel, so they claim.

They did have them but unfortunately the Adams & Bennett barrels for the Savage 110 have been discontinued. They were fairly simple to change, provided you had a barrel vise, a Savage barrel nut wrench and a set of Go- No Go gauges. A good set of biceps didn't hurt either.

I see where they stil have a few left and they are on closeout at a good price.

It is a pretty easy swap, I did one on my 112. Whole project took about an hour. Strong set of arms sure don't hurt either.

Just bought a barrel from midway for 100$. It says that it is cut from a magnum barrel. Its for my Savage 111 .270. I will let everyone know how it works.

Grice says they are now out of the 7600 35 Whelen pumps.
