Ruger P97??

Does anybody have any expierance or comments on this gun? I trying to consider between the Ruger P97 and the Springfield PX9151L 1911A1 or the Glock 21. The Cheapest in price is the ruger but just wanted to see if it is a good choice?

I played with one for a while. It was very reliable, easy to take down, but not very accurate.

There is accuracy and then there is shootability. Most short barrel semi automatic pistols are pretty accurate. That is if you put them in a machine rest and fire them that way. However most short barreled semi auto pistols in 45 Auto are not very shootable. That is without lots of practice and good technique. The Ruger being a double action pistol does not have the shootability of a single action such as the Browning High Power and colt 1911. You will find the triggers have a longer and tougher pull.I have had all of them and I do mean ALL. The Ruger, at combat and self defense ranges are accurate enough for what they are made for. Its not a Bullseye gun but they are reliable and are priced right and if you learn to shoot it, It will do its part. Most all of the others will as well but its hard to beat or match their reliability. Clean, Dirty, any brand of ammo, any bullet style. It will digest them all. I have the P97DC as well as the same gun in 9 Mil. I have also had the 40 S&W.
