I would never sell that... It would be priceless to me... Something to pass on to your kids! and their kids, etc.

I'm not selling it, just want a $ value for insurence purposes.

That weapon is irreplaceable, due to it's history. I am not sure what I would do for insurance purposes. I would definitely keep it in a fireproof gunsafe though

Md,
Is there a 480 code stamped on the other side of Slide?
480 code...Ser# 1-7,665....In 100%> $5,150.....98%> $3,500.....95%>$2,900
Only 7,200 mfg.........any condition over 90% is rare.
And your ser# is below this. Do have Fjestad 25th anniversary edition Blue Book?
Add another $1,000 for documents and hostler.

From the little bit of poking around the 'net that I did, it would seem that your gun is probably worth somewhere between $400-800, depending on the condition, date and place of manufacture, etc... I am by no means an expert on German WWII era pistols, but you might be able to get more detailed info at the following site:

rebel,
Can't tell if there is a 480 code on the other side, there is something there but too small to read it without magnafing. The serial # is very clear, as a matter of fact you can make it out in the pic (6147D) and the slide has the same matching #. A friend took the same pictures to a gun show this weekend and was told by a vender looking at the pics he would guess $350 to 500.
