spartan gunworks spr22

anyone ever see this gun up close other than on Remington's website? I like to know about wood, blueing and metal to wood fit.
I do not expect a $500 gun to look lie a $3000 one but don't expect a bumper jack handle either.
I was waiting for EAA to bring them over under the Baikal name but apparently that was scraped when it was sold to Remington.
where else can you buy a SXS 30-06 or 45-70 for this kind of $

Been waiting for the SxS 45-70 or a while now. They haven't even shipped yet and was told they're not expected until late this year. There'll be at least 2, maybe 3, coming up this way (me and brother)

I looked at them at the SHOT Show. The wood to metal was acceptable and the blueing was fair. Any checkering was obviously machine done and acceptable on this price firearm. At the asking price and being backed by Remington, I think it's an OK piece. Won't be your pride and joy, but as I've said before, a fine working firearm.

One problem I see w/ the .45/70 is it can't handle hot loads. It looks like it would be a fun gun to shoot though and for the price it looks like it should be a fairly good value. It would be a good conversation piece and looks like it would be a good gun for hunting in heavy timber for hogs. I bough t a Marlin 1895 in the .450 Marlin and it works great in tight spaces. If you are wanting a good .45/70 and you might want to look at one of the Marlins.

All those old classic model 45-70's didn't suufer from a lack of "hot loads" There's been a great many game - large game - fallen cleanly with this classic cartridge. If you need a "hot load", you find a different chambering - JMO.
