RE: Mossberg 935

If anyone is shooting 2 3/4" shells in a 935 they are lucky. The barrel and the owners manual both state 3" and 3 1/2" only. I have heard of a handful of customers that after several boxes of 3 1/2" duckloads, got 2 3/4" 1.25oz heavy field loads to cycle through theres, but not ALWAYS. For squirrels, rabbits or doves those are heavy loads and typically fairly expensive. If you aren't wanting to shell out the money for a quality piece like a SBE II or Extrema II then look at the 912 Franchi (essentially a 3.5" Benelli M1). They will do it all and are decent guns of decent quality. They are almost as light as the SBE II and Extrema II and can be had for $700-$900.

The 935 is a great duck, turkey gun. It WILL "shoot loose" just like anyother Mossberg, that being it will get loose and "rattley" after a flat or two of heavy loads run through it. But what the heck, for $500 what can you expect? With a Rhino .695 and some 2 1/4oz 4x5x7 Nitros it will make for a turkey gun that very very few can compete with! ;) And the Lord knows it doesn't beat you senseless like the old un-ported 835s (like mine MAN does it loosen the fillings [:@] on the patterning range).

Good luck,
RA
