hey guys quick question, i clean my gun regularly with hoppes 9 powder cleaner, buti was told that it wont remove the copper in the rifling. the gun shop sold me some stuff that will take it out except that i need to use a nylon bore brush instead of the brass one i got. they are all sold out of the nylon brushes right now, so i am wondering if i can use my brass one with this cleaner or will it eat the bristles on me. one guy tell me dont use the brass and another says you can use it just clean it (the brush) with water immediatley after. what do you think?

Most likely the "stuff" is ammonia based and brass will give false tale tales of copper in the barrel. Bronze brushs will work great. I use the brass anyway, just to loosen the fouling. After that you are going to probably use patches anyway. So go head.

well i am not sure if i have brass or bronze for a brush, but the stuff i am going to use is Barnes CR-10, i just thought i would check and see what you guys think
i just checked the package and the brush i have is a phosphor broze brush, so i assume that it is just a bronze brush.
