accuracy of a gun

Are the Mausers accurate guns? I have a Western Field 770A-EHM (Mauser 3000). I only shot it open sight at 50 yrds. I can hit dead center of a target. Just curious. Also, can someone give me an example of brands that are not accurate?

Thanks

RE: accuracy of a gun

The Mauser 98 action is one of the best. This action is quite often the choice of those who build a custom rifle from scratch. Its amazing that an action built nearly 60 years ago is still the standard for custom rifle making today.

I don't know about 'built' - that depends on specific gun, but this action was designed more than 100 years ago - the 98 refers to 1898! Truely an amazing design!
