Rebel Hog, No I don't.I don't do anything special.I clean the gun before shooting it.I shoot it letting it cool between shots. When I get home it gets a good cleaning.I hear everybody with breaking in barrels. I 've never had a problem the way I've done it for years. In time it's going to get broken in . I assuming this is what your question was.

I have been told by a Chicago gunsmith to mix 50/50 tansmission fluid and MARVEL oil, run a patch in the
barrel with it....run a dry patch, fire it and repeat this 10 times.
I have never heard of this before.I have always done it the way you do!

Have heard this before. Never have I tried it. With modern metals, I wouldn't. Its not near as poreous as a old blackpowder barrel to hold the materials to make it foul less.

Marvel has alot of by products that might scare me to do this. I don't know the chemistry of it but I thought it had some metals in it. Might pit your bore. Might not. If you decide to try let us know if it fouls less. I am always open ears to learning a new trick.

By the way, I was just looking at my marvel bottle and they have a number for info. Might call and ask them. I love the stuff to loosen up rings and put some lube back in old valve seals.

thats why they call it "mystery oil" if you knew what was in it, it would be called "not really a mystery oil":D:D:D
