Jewell Trigger..how good is their hunting reliability?
 

I have messed with pretty much all the brands except these. Are they a good hunting trigger or should I stick with Shilen,Timney or just use the plain Rem trigger.?

if you have a Rem trigger, I'd stick with it...it's pretty good as is and the expense of another trigger for a HUNTING gun isn't warranted IMO

If the Rem trigger is adjusted good its still a good trigger.The triggers you mentioned are good if you want to put more money into your gun.If you like the one now why change it? good luck vangunsmith

I like the shilens but most of my remingtons have the remingtons on them and have been adjusted. I got one that is very light but too much creep. Never have been able to get that out.

Having used Shilen, Rifle Basix,Rem 40X/700, Canjars in the past I can say that without a doubt Jewell makes a better trigger. Are they worth the extra money? They dominate the benchrest scene. That should tell you something. In the hunting realm though, they offer little over the others, when you are working with 2-4 ounce triggers,Jewell's are tough to beat.

This is strictly a hunting rifle so I won't spend the money

old if your guy is good at adjusting the rems down to a good 3.5lbs with no creep, I say keep the rems. Don't have to worry about the safety or any other modifications.

3.5 lbs that Heavy:D He usually adjusts them to 2lbs and they are perfect..I just heard that once you shoot a Jewell trigger your spoiled for ever. I want something that emulates the most perfect trigger I have ever pulled..Blaser R93

2lbs is way too light for me and hunting situations. Some remington authorized centers was telling the spring components in a remington trigger are not qualified to work at that low of pull. They may work and I know I will the typical, I got one on my gun for 500 years thing, but thats just what they were telling me. he was recommending I change to something else if I wanted it lower than 3.5lbs.

Hmm Remington trigger properly adjusted should go to 1 1/2 lbs not any lower and still be safe. Now I know that they have heavier springs in the later models so they would be changed out.
