Rifle Recoil Pads
Anyone know a good recoil pad that would fit a Mossburg 500? So far I have been looking at Limbsaver and Kickeze. Thanks in advance.

RE: Rifle Recoil Pads
I PUT A LIMBSAVER ON MY 338 WIN MAG RIFLE AND IT MADE A BIG DIFFERENCE. if the length and pull isint an issue try one of the slip on limbsaver pads over the one you have and that should really calm things down. i did that with my mossbergs to tame those slugs.

RE: Rifle Recoil Pads
I also use the limbsaver on my 300 rum, and I love it!!! If you need a good smith to install one, I have the number for the guy I use. He is near Manchester, and I highly recommend him. Shoot me a pm if you want his contact info.

Mossy and liquid.
Are you guys only using the slip on kind or have you tried the kind that you have to replace the screws? Any info would be helpful. Jedi knight sorry for butting into your question, but i was wondering about recoil pads myself. i have a .300 win mag that i wanted to tame down. thanks. Zach |
RE: Rifle Recoil Pads
I have the Limbsavers on a few guns and the Decelerators on a couple of others. They really make a difference. If you shoot a lot, they are a great investment.
I have an almost brand new Limbsaver Med. slipon that I would sell for $20 shipped. Bought it for my son's rifle and we just got a custom stock with a Decelerator on it. |

I like to add Is there any performance difference between the slip on and the stock replacments? Also what does the whole "Grind to fit" mean? |

Also what does the whole "Grind to fit" mean? fatsbucknut and jedi, The limbsaver I use is the grind to fit, it comes with holes in it but they usually dont match up to the holes you have on your particular rifle, my particular gun was getting a new stock, so it didnt have any hole drilled into, my buddy need to have his original holes filled and new holes drilled. The other question, a slip on has about 4 or 5 inches of material that go over your stock kinda like a sock, IMO its not as atractive as the made to fit ones. Kelbro mentioned the decelerator pad also, I have heard that they are just as good as limbsavers , I just preferred to use the limbsaver brand because I use all their products on my bow. |
RE: Rifle Recoil Pads
I concur on the Limbsaver (or R3 Pad if you are talking Remington). I have 5 now on 3 rifles and two shotguns. All were model specific and fit perfect except the slip-on I put on my 835 Turkey gun (which was fine with me as I dont care about the looks on that hunting gun and I wanted a longer length of pull anyway so I slipped it over the stock pad). They all work GREAT! For the money I dont think the Limbsaver can be beat.
The only other pad I feel that is as effective is the Pachmayer Decelerator that came on my Sako Warbird. It is a great pad as well, but they are much more expensive than the Sims pads. Good luck, RA |

i put limbsaver on my fausi o/u and its the cats ass.
totally recomend to anyone |
RE: Rifle Recoil Pads
Jedi Knight and fatbucknut,
You guys should try the Remington R3 Recoil pad. Its the kind that replace the plate thats already on. It tames the 06 and 270 to recoil less than a 30-30. |
