RE: scope or iorn?
I like my scope but all my scopes are mounted with see through mounts so that I can use my iron sights if needed |
RE: scope or iorn?
Give me a scope, always.

RE: scope or iorn?
I used open sights early in my hunting career, but have been using a scope for quite a few years now. For me it was a matter of being able to see antlers on a deers head. A scope is real useful in that regard. I used to use a 3x9, but after not getting a shot on 2 dandy bucks that were running at very close range, I've since dropped down to a 1.75x5 and a 2x7. This has not been a problem since. I am now a firm advocate that when hunting in the "brush" you don't need anything above a 2x7. That's more than enough.

Iorn sights all the way.

RE: scope or iorn?
There are some rifles so well balanced in themselves that it's just a crime puttin' a scope on 'em. The Winchester 94 carbine is one example.

RE: scope or iorn?
All of the above SCOPES for me. Its hard to use iron when the rear is fuzzy and there are three or four front pins.

scopes, I need all the advantage I can get

RE: scope or iorn?
My favorite is open sights. I will use a scope when hunting in terrain where there is a probability of an extended range shot.
