Rings (not the ones you put on your finger)

i recently purchased a winchester 94 30-30 with a 4X weaver scope and see through weaver rings. i am not impressed with the weaver rings but i think i still want the see through rings. do you guys have any segustions as to what rings would be best. i don't want to spend a lot just for rings.

I'm NOT impressed with see through rings at all!! NOT any brand of them!!!

"Weaver" rings and bases when installed "properly", are very strong, and will take quite a bit of abuse with out complaining!! I have them on most of my rifles, and have never had even one fail to date.

Me Too. I have 95 percent Weaver bases and rings. I also like the Millet windage adjustable rings. Never had a problem in many years of using them

Ditto, I would recommend staying away from See- thru's. They are made of aluminum extrusions. The slightest bump will knock them out of whack. I've seen to many with problems.

IMO the Millets are top quality, I also would'nt give a dime for a box full of see thru mounts of any brand.

I normally don't see a lot of postings about Millett rings. Glad to see someone other than me likes 'em! I have set on my Savage .30-06 and on my Remington 700 MLS. I find them to be very strong and well manufactured, especially for the selling price. I also think that the ribbed inner surface of the rings keeps the scope tightly installed.
