Default Pick My Scope

Hey Guys, I have a very pretty Rem. CDL in .35 whelen that needs a scope, and I have no idea what kind of scope I want to put on top of it. If this was your gun, what would be sitting on top of it? I am wrestling between a Nikon Monarch in 2x7 or a Leupold VIII in 2.5x8. Maybe with a few other opinions I will be able to make up my mind.

Of your 2 choices, I’d go with the Nikon Monarch. Outside the scopes you listed, I’d prefer a Nikon Monarch or Leupold VX-II in 3-9x40mm.

Nikon monarch 2-7 absolutely for western hunting..For deer hunting in the east I would go Monarch 3-9x40 ..it beats the pants off the VXiii-2.5-8x36(actually both monarchs do) and would gather a little more light in low light situations. Good Luck
