Something to consider in the future is buying three more magazines. That way you can keep three loaded for two weeks and let the springs in the others relax for two weeks. The switch em for 2 more weeks. may help, take care.

nyorange,

I have already thought about that. I may look into it, we'll see!

I do have 3 more mags but they only hold 7 rounds, my duty mags hold 8...I could swap them in and out and just have 3 less rounds when I am carring the 7 rounders!

i had this happen on a smaller caiber. the problem was to much spring presser with a full mag. it was releasing a round on blow back then picking up another on the spring return. the only cure i used was to reduce the mag one round.

One thing that crossed my mind as I looked over this thread again.....

When does your magazine double feed? Any random round? The first few rounds out? The last few rounds out? If there is a regularity of what rounds are jamming for you, I can't say for CERTAIN what's causing them, but typically:

first few rounds is too strong of spring and/or slightly flared lips (you might not be able to notice the flaring).
Any ol'time it wants to suggests mostly the lips are shot, but it could also be the springs, just less likely
Last few rounds is almost always because of a weak spring. The more rounds you've got in it, the spring is pushing harder, when it gets near empty, it doesn't have the necessary upward pressure to keep them in the lips.

You should be able to simply go into a good gunshop and "try on" a magazine, you'd have to buy it, if it isn't the problem, then a) you've got an extra magazine, or b) take it back and say it's giving you terrible feeding and you want your money back (wouldn't be lying)
