Breakfree CLP, LP, or collector
I have been using outers and hoppes, and tetra gun oils for years. But intereted in the breakfree products. Anyone try the collector oil? Just using on bolt actions after cleaning. I used to use the CLP on my pistols. But had too much odor for use on my hunting rifles IMO.
I accidently picked up some Hoppes MDL or (morture displacing lubericant) and its really thin. Not sure how much protection it will give.
Please no posts on I used brand x with no problems. I just want to hear about breakfree or hoppes MDL.
Thanks

I have a spray can and a little applicator bottle with no mention of Teflon. I did throw out a good size bottle that must have been 10 years old that had teflon in it. I just assumed the new stuff had it as well. anyway there is better out there that is for sure.

Breakfree is excellent for getting the lead out of bores. Clean the bore real good, then leave some in overnight and go at it again.
Good preservative for longer-term storage, as it dries out to a gummy kind of coating after a while. I don't use it on delicate mechanisms (e.g. triggers) for the same reason.
