INTERCHANGING AMMO??
 

This year I'll be hunting moose as well as deer up here in Alberta. With my 30.06 My question is. I want a bullet that will perform well downing a deer as well as a 1200 bull moose?...any takers

Or is it possible to get 2 types of loads .one for deer and one for moose that will be close to zero on my scope. This is due to the fact that I may come across a huge buck out moose hunting and would hate to lose it due to the bullet not expanding. well you know what I mean?

My gun likes the slower loads like the winchester super x stuff or Federal classic?

When I used to moose hunt , I used the same bullet in my Remington 742 30.06 for mosse & deer with no problem what so ever......

Pick one load and don't switch back and forth as there is too much chance of losing an opportunity while switching loads.

Nich, I recommend that you use a controlled-expansion 165-grain or 180 grain bullet for this, and stick with just one weight. I would use a load with Nosler Partition or Trophy Bonded Bear Claw bullets. My personal choice, for factory loads, would be the 165-grain Trophy Bonded Federal High Energy ammo. BUT, I don't use factory ammo, so I'd use a handload with a 165 Nosler Partition bullets at around 2900 FPS for both deer and moose in a .30/'06. A regular, non-premium 165 bullet would be a little on the light side for moose, but if you use a premium bullet, it isn't!! :)
