My savage markII loves federal 36grain HPs in the 550 round bulk pack and CCI's CB long ammo.

RE: what is ur favorite 22 ammo
I only shoot 22 ammo in my Pardini SP pistol. For practice, I like Aguila SV. For matches I shoot Eley Target Rifle or Target Pistol, and have been trying out some new Federal Gold Medal we got via the CMP. This gun didn't like Federal 711B when I tried some a few years ago but this new batch is excellent. Other good brands I've used are Wolf and RWS. Wolf is the softest recoiling ammo I've tried, but won't cycle the action in a number of target pistols we've tried it in.

RE: what is ur favorite 22 ammo
I'm surprised at the variety of answerers...I have shot every .22 out there and found the Yelow jackets to be 2nd best but very dirty. CCi Stingers bar none win hands down for accuracy, consistency & power. It's nice to see others are happy with the other manufacturers which must mean quality is improving, but I suggest you try the stingers and compare everything else to them. JDinAB

Wolf Match Target! These 5 shot groups were shot consecutivelly. The white circles are 1/2" diameter. Cut the black on target #8.

RE: what is ur favorite 22 ammo
My Ruger MkII hated Eley match pistol. It would fail to feed, and more commonly not have enough to cycle the action. I found that Gold Medal (thanks for not making it any more federal.) Now I use Agulia match pistol.

RE: what is ur favorite 22 ammo
Any CCI ammo is great. Dont like Remingtons to much, and Winchester is alright.

RE: what is ur favorite 22 ammo
I dont own a .22 anymore, I went the way of the .17 Calibers.
I bought a NEF Sportster .17 Mach 2 a few months ago and I aint about to sell it. My best group with it so far is a .02" I shot at 25yd with 17gr Hornady V-Max's. |
RE: what is ur favorite 22 ammo
In my Savage 64 I've found it likes the Remington Golden Bullet, I buy it in bulk from Bass Pro Shops. Less then two cents a round, I believe.
$10.95 or something like that for a 525ct. box, perfect for cheap plinkers. |
