i looked at the 710 during my last purchase.. i wanted a cheaper rifle to bang around in the woods. At the local Wallymart, it was $396.. I found a savage combo for less, and the Winchester Shadow M70 for the same price. The 700's were about $100 more then all three of these. My point is, why not get a M70 or a savage package. Put them side by side and you will see the difference. Especially with the M70.. And they were the same price. I think Remington did a dis-service to itself by even making the 710.
